Class of 1968
Class of 1968 will have their 50 year reunion this fall on the weekend of September 27-28, 2018.
Friday plans now finalized! The Center Education Foundation will serve a light dinner in the high school cafeteria starting at 5:00 (8715 Holmes Rd, in case you have forgotten!). Volunteers will show us around the school and hold open the Center School District Museum in the old journalism room downstairs. They will give us free tickets to the football game, which starts at 7:00. We are also free to socialize in the cafeteria for a while. We can meet any time after 8 or so at Medici Pizza on the south end of Ward Parkway under the big white awnings for drinks and more socializing.
On Saturday night, join your classmates for a fun evening of reminiscing, drinks, and music at one of Kansas City's most unique and beautiful event sites, the World War I Museum. Cocktails, refreshments, and light hors d'oeuvres will begin at 5:30 PM with dinner at 7:00 PM. After sunset, the top of the Liberty Memorial tower will be open for breathtaking nightime vistas of Kansas City. The Museum is truly one of Kansas City’s treasures, located across the street from Union Station and next to Crown Center, with the Westin Hotel and Sheraton within walking distance. The free streetcar line runs from Union Station all the way into the River Market.
The cost for Saturday night's event will be $68 per person and we will have a no host cash bar with mixed drinks, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. The museum needs a good count on the number of attendees, so please make your reservations and pay by September 15, 2018. We will not be able to accept payments at the door. To help with planning, please commit to your attendance as soon as possible. Dress for Saturday evening will be business casual.
For more information, click here for the class Facebook page.
As the event grows closer, we will be posting activities around Kansas City that might interest you that weekend. We are also posting nearby hotel accommodations close to the museum or accessible by street car. Center has a home football game on Friday, September 28th for those interested. More to follow on that too.
You may also pay with PayPal. The payee address is email@example.com. If you use your Paypal account to pay, please change "paying for an item or service" tab to "sending to a friend". If you use the "payment for an item or service" our reunion will be charged a service fee.
Mark your calendars. Remember---"be there or be square!”
