The Center Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit entity whose mission is to provide enhanced resources and opportunities for the educational success of all children within the Center School District by actively engaging the District stakeholders and larger community.

The Executive Director is responsible for managing and leading the Foundation’s activities and administration on a day-to-day basis as overseen by the Foundation Board of Directors.    

 JOB DUTIES

FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY/DISTRICT RELATIONS

Candidates for the Executive Director position must:

• §  Work closely with Center School District administration and staff in support of the Foundation’s mission.
• §  Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with alumni to generate support for Foundation fundraising efforts and to inform alumni of Foundation activities.
• §  Coordinate the Foundation’s annual Distinguished Alumni program.
• §  Participate with various community organizations and District partners (such as South KC Chamber, South KC Alliance, Center Planning & Development, Marlborough Community Coalition, Caring for Kids Network, Communities that Care) to promote the Foundation’s goals and activities.
• §  Market Foundation activities through regular newsletter, social media, and website updates.
• §  Engage in personal relationship building with District staff, parents, patrons, corporate partners, and potential donors.
• §  Identify grant opportunities in support of the Foundation’s mission.
• §  Monitor and coordinate committees to plan, execute and publicize the Foundation’s fundraising activities and campaigns, currently including:

• o   Others as determined by the Board

FOUNDATION ADMINISTRATION

Candidates must also manage the Foundation on a day-to-day basis, including but not limited to the following activities:

• Manage grant applications, review, approval and award process
• Prepare and preserve Board meeting agendas and minutes.
• Attend regular meetings of the Board to report to the Directors.
• Maintain Foundation website
• Respond to phone, mail, email, and social media inquiries as needed
• Monitor Foundation mailbox
• Assist Foundation treasurer and bookkeeper with financial accounting & reporting
• File city, state, federal reports as needed
• Other administrative tasks necessary to the Foundation’s activities and as directed by the Board.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• §  Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Education, Business or Marketing
• §  Experience organizing and running fundraising campaigns
• §  Confidence in approaching potential donors to support fundraising goals
• §  Event planning, including recruiting and managing volunteers to run fundraising events
• §  Social media and website administration and coordination
• §  Experience with Network for Good Donor Management system
• §  Proficiency using QuickBooks, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The Executive Director position offers a competitive stipend per year.  No benefits are provided.
