Ending student homelessness in the Center School District
The mission of the Impact Center program is to end student homelessness
in the Center School District within four years.
Have you ever wondered -
You might not think of these as problems faced by students in the Center School District, but the fact is that there are about 300 students at any point in time for whom these questions are a daily reality.
The reasons for student homelessness (living in insecure housing) are many and varied but they usually revolve around families that don’t have the resources to bounce back from the ups and downs of life. Once families fall into the abyss of homelessness the challenges of lost jobs, past due bills, and evictions make it difficult to recover.
Our Center Education Foundation Board of Directors, mostly Center alumni, have committed to help end homelessness for Center students by supporting a community based program called Impact Center. This program works individually with our families who don't have stable housing to help them overcome barriers to successfully finding and staying in permanent housing to end their merry-go-round of instability.
Over the next six weeks we hope to raise $50,000. Several alumni have agreed to match your donations, dollar for dollar, to support this campaign. This means that the contribution that you make today will be doubled by the matching donors!
Thank you for your support!
